At 21, Irfan was named as one of the Youngest Players in the World to have scored a Century. He is also the sixth Kenyan to have scored a Century in the One Day International since Kenya attained ODI in 1997.
He achieved this feat during a match between Kenya and Canada in Dubai on March 13, 2013 in which he steered Kenya to a second in three days during the ICC World Cricket League Championships.
Irfan’s knock included 11 boundaries from 137 balls during which he rotated the strike to ensure the Kenyan inning was built around him. The left-handed batsman, leg-spinner and wicket-keeper started playing cricket at the Nairobi Jaffreys Sports Club and is currently a member of Stray Lions.
Irfan is currently studying in Britain where he is pursuing a degree in Sports Science and Management at Loughborough University, near Leicester.
